Little Things
We all come to realize that in life, and in particular love, that it is definitely the Little Things that count the most. Contemporary poet Elle Smith rhythmically expresses in this original poem, just how those little things make us feel when displayed by someone we love.
Sometimes in life we can become starstruck and believe that grand gestures show us love and care, however we forget that there is no price attached to true or real love. True love and affection is always freely given, as this quirky original poem sums this sentiment up in verse below:
You holding my hand,
making me feel safe.
Unity between us,
feeling comfy and ace.
It’s always the little things
that give us the most.
The gentle caressing,
your fingers stroking my ear.
Making me feel special,
and without worry or care.
It’s always the little things
Telling me I am beautiful,
when no make up I wear.
Insisting I look absolutely lovely,
when you muck up my hair.
It’s always the little things
Laughing out loud,
until my tummy almost hurt.
You beaming beside me,
makes life have such worth.
It’s always the little things
Life with you beside me,
is beyond compare to most.
