The CityScapes Art Competition - Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery
Special Recognition Award for "Paris in a Bubble" - 8 by 10 inch - Oil on Canvas
Judge: Carolyn Edlund (Artist Marketing Expert at Artsyshark.com)
She commented:
"In judging this exhibition, I considered the different sights and feelings that cities present. Up close, they can be bustling and chaotic, filled with energy flowing in a million directions. From afar, a city can appear as a serene, glowing landscape. Cities are nothing without people, and their everyday tasks and activities give a city life and character. I found in these submissions all of these impressions of city life, and carefully chose those pieces of art that captured fascinating parts of the urban experience, combined with striking visual impact."

The All-Woman Art Competition - Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery
Special Recognition Award for "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" - 16 by 12 inch - Oil on Canvas
Judge: Aletta de Wal (Artist Marketing Expert)
She commented:
"Every artist who submitted their art to the “All Women” Online Art Competition sponsored by Light Space & Time deserves a note of commendation. You created many works, selected one or more and added an artist statement. That takes creativity, choice and completion. And these acts deserve and were give extreme care in the jurying process.
In making my selections from the works that John R. Math asked me to review, I brought many perspectives to my choices. Among them aptitude, breadth, composition, depth, effects, flair, gradations, hues, inspiration, joy, kinds, lines, materials, nuances, optics, perspective, qualities, range, styles, texture, unity, variety, wit, xylography, yantra and zen. I considered each entry individually from my eye as an artist, advisor and collector. I sorted and resorted the entries in each category at least a dozen times until ten stood out in each group. The most difficult task was ranking those ten, especially when they came from 1154 entries.”

The gallery received 1,154 entries from 27 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom and Venezuela.
